History
The birth of Word of Faith and Praise Ministries of Fort Lauderdale was conceived from the loins of the late Bishop Sidney Edwards and First Lady Vilma Y. Edwards, founded in 1997. The first service was held at the Ramada Inn Resort hotel, currently known as the Inverrary Resort Hotel located in Lauderhill, Florida. In a matter of six months from the day of conception, the church had grown to 19 members. In 2006 a second location was launched in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Bishop Edwards transitioned to heaven on 2/1/2018 and today his legacy continues to thrive in both locations with God's abundant faithfulness.

Mission
Word of Faith and Praise Ministries of Fort Lauderdale is commissioned to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with urgency and love so that many will be converted into the faith and saved by God's amazing grace.
Evangelism is the heartbeat of the ministry. We are committed to advancing the Kingdom of God by winning lost souls and equipping new converts with the word of God, and helping believers grow in knowledge and spiritual maturity as we guide and disciple individuals along their Christian journey. We desire to see men and women of all backgrounds to live life victoriously with the power of God manifested in their lives.

Beliefs

We believe the Bible was inspired by God, which is the infallible authority of our faith.

We believe in one God, eternally coexistent in the Trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is God manifested in the flesh, His Virgin birth, His sinless life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection. His ascension, and His personal return in power and glory.

We believe in the salvation of the lost by faith, through the shed blood of Jesus Christ and the regeneration by the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, and by His indwelling presence enables the believer to live uprightly, to witness for the Lord Jesus Christ, and equipping His church to carry out its mission.

We believe in the fellowship of all believers and the church as the Body of Christ.

We believe in the resurrection of the saved unto eternal life, as well as eternal condemnation unto those who rejected salvation through Jesus Christ.
