REFLECTIONS
Sargent Kenneth Saavedra Jr.
Sargent Kenneth Saavedra Jr. was born on July 5, 1983 and entered into rest on Sunday July 15, 2012 at the age of 29 years old. The manner of death was suicide.
In 2002 Kenny enlisted in the Army National Guard. He served his country with two military deployments to Afghanistan and was awarded with several metals which included the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Army Good Conduct, and the Army Achievement Medal.
Kenny’s greatest battle was within. His best friend lost his life in combat during their second tour together. In addition, Kenny suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. The greatest fight he endured was for his life and unfortunately his internal battles overcame him.
We honor Sargent Kenneth Saavedra Jr for his service to our country and will continue the fight of bringing light to the darkness of suicide.
